LETS LIVE LIFE

Let’s Live Life is a 12-week supported physical activity programme that helps people to increase the amount of movement in their daily lives. This programme offers a range of activities and is suitable for the first-time exerciser, those returning after a long break or have long term health conditions.

Is this for you?

To be eligible for this programme you must be at least 16 years old, inactive and have one or more health conditions. Conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, musculoskeletal problems or injuries, or mental health issues such as anxiety or depression.

Individuals accessing this scheme will receive:

  • An initial assessment by a qualified Physical Activity Health Activator
  • A tailored programme of activity options best suited to their specific needs and abilities
  • Person centred goals to help achieve small changes
  • Support from our specialist team throughout the 12-weeks programme
  • Access to a range of low level classes, aqua classes, various activities and supported exercise and gym sessions. 
 

If you meet any of the following criteria below, you will be eligible for the scheme.

  • Limited mobility
  • Plantar fascittis sufferers
  • Type 1/2 diabetic
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Arthritis (osteo/rheumatoid)
  • Mental health (anxiety/depression)
  • Joint replacement
  • Chronic back pain
  • Osteoporosis
  • Over the age of 50 and new to exercise
  • Over the age of 60 
  • Obese
  • Long covid

LET’S LIVE LIFE Activities

45 mins - Suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s.  Choice of low or high impact, seated options available if there are specific exercises that you may find difficult.  This class has a variety of exercises, including the use of equipment, circuit style.  Working for 1 minute 30 seconds, with 30 seconds rest in-between.  This class is great for your cardio fitness, muscular strength and endurance, and fat burn.


45 mins - This class is suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s, and for those with limited mobility, such as those who struggle to, or have been advised not to exercise on the floor.  This form of Pilates is a great way to build muscular strength, improve flexibility, balance and posture and develop a strong core. Each exercise can be tailored to allow individual progression at your own pace. A gentle but enjoyable class.


45 mins - This class is suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s, any fitness level will be able to join in.  Great music and fun dance routines in a range of styles including salsa, disco, swing, cha cha, street, and many more. No dance experience necessary, just a desire to release your inner dance diva! You will be having so much fun you won't even realise you're exercising!


up to 1 hour – this is a private session held in the small gym, exclusively available for our LLL client’s and Freedom members that need help and assistance from one of our Health Coaches.  Relaxed session where we offer advice and assistance.


45 minutes - Gentle, slow moving, flowing exercises. Requires loose fitting clothes and soft pumps/shoes/bare feet. No floor work, all exercises are done standing but can be adapted for sitting. This class is beneficial for chronic, non-specific lower back pain, reducing stress, improving breathing, balance and increasing flexibility.


45 mins - This class has lots of variety, for example resistance bands, kettlebells and weights, stretching and mobility.  It would suit those who have problems with standing whilst exercising, such as those who have a leg injury, suffering with plantar fasciitis, or only able to exercise their upper body.  Suitable for the over 50’s (but not exclusive to).


1.5 hours - Suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s.  This is a free service with a sole purpose of bringing people together and encouraging light and gentle activity.  During the seasons the activities will change and you will need to enquire as to our current activity.  You can do this via our Let’s Live Life Facebook Page, come into Roefield Leisure and ask in the Let’s Live Life room, or send an email with your enquiry to sam.letslivelife@gmail.com.  Examples of activities are short country walks (approximately 2 mile), recipe swaps, table tennis, kurling, swing ball  and, badminton,  etc. Activities are non competitive and easy exercise is encouraged.


45 minutes - Suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s.  Weight bearing exercises using kettlebells, barbells, dumbbells, bendy balls and resistance bands.  Seated options available if there are specific exercises that you may find difficult.  This class is great for your muscular strength and endurance.  Strong muscles lead to strong bones, and strong bones can help minimize the risk of fracture due to osteoporosis.


45 minutes -  A gentle 45 minute class which focuses on stretching out muscles and improving flexibility and joint mobility using a series of standing and seated flowing exercises. The last 15 minutes of the class will consist of guided meditation and breathing exercises to aid relaxation and balance body and mind.


45 mins - Suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s, and those unable to do high impact exercise.  Low impact aerobics, finished with a toning section.  There is also an option for seated aerobics for those with limited mobility, please advise the instructor in advance of the class if you need help and advice.  Great for fat burn, cardio training, muscular strength and endurance.


45 mins - This class is suitable for any fitness level. Fab music and fun movements, incorporating both dance and
low-impact aerobic moves, for a well-rounded work-out. No dance experience necessary, we welcome anyone who just want to move
their feet to the beat!


45 mins - Our spine is a remarkable structure that supports our entire body. Maintaining its health is crucial for a
pain-free and active life. This class provides an opportunity to educate ourselves about correct posture, exercises, and stretches that
can reduce the risk of back problems. Our specialist instructor can assist those who are struggling with mechanical back pain which is
often non-specified. You may be required to get up and down from the floor in this class.


30 mins - a class to improve your range of movement, posture and flexibility. No floor work is
involved, loose fitting/stretchy clothing is essential.


45 minutes - Suitable for (but not exclusive to) the over 50’s. Very gentle class suitable for people new to exercise who need to strengthen the body and work on mobilisation in a safe, circuit style class.


45 mins - This class is suitable for seniors (but not exclusive to), those with limited mobility, and those suffering with diagnosed chronic fatigue.  This is a very gentle class designed to improve flexibility, posture and range of movement. Exercises are mainly seated but sometimes standing.


45 mins - this is a 30 minute gentle ride, not a spin class! Enjoy the music, use your imagination and have some
fun!


45 mins - This class is for those with long-term neurological conditions (ie. Parkinson’s and MS) only and will require a form completing before your first attendance (subject to criteria).  You will be required to get up and down from the floor, aids can be used if needed.  Activities will specifically work on agility, stability, coordination and grip strength.


45 mins - This class is for those with orthopaedic conditions only and will require a form completing before
your first attendance (subject to criteria). You will be required to get up and down from the floor.
